Britain votes for favourite car stars

A new survey has shed some light on the nature of the nation's passion for their cars.
But it is unlikely that drivers currently looking for a new vehicle will be able to find anything much like the motor that was voted the UK's favourite fictional car in the poll KITT the talking car from TV show Knight Rider. More than one-fifth of respondents (21 per cent) voted artificially intelligent 1980s superstar KITT as their favourite car, while proof that nostalgia isn't dead came from many of the other 1970s and 1980s-era entrants on the list.
Revving up in second place was the Mini, star of the Italian job, while Love Bug Herbie was in third position. Other entries in the top ten list included the Delorean from Back to the Future, James Bond's Aston Martin and Del Boy's Reliant Robin.
A senior director at Lloyds TSB Insurance had an interesting comment when he said that Michael Knight would agree that a talking car would make forming a relationship with a car a little easier, but all the same, Brits don't seem to have too much trouble falling in love with their vehicles.
